ROBERT SMITH - Head Coach
Coach Smith brings over 11 years of successful coaching to the baseball program at VVC. Awarded Coach of the Year in 2005. In his third season with the Rams, he brings steady improvement to this program, while continuing to challenge his players at every level of the game. He has recruited local talent from the High Desert and has succeeded in placing players at a higher level of baseball. He believes a player's work ethic determines his success on and off the field. Coach Smith is confident that this program will continue to be a competitive opponent in the Foothill Conference.

LUKE LOCKWOOD - Assistant / Pitching Coach
Luke Lockwood, 27 years old. Graduated in 1999 from Silverado High School. Where he was a two sport athlete in baseball and football. Also received the athlete of the year honor. In 1999 was drafted in the 8th round in the amateur baseball draft by the Montreal Expos. Played with the Expos from 1999 to 2004. In 2001 was an all-star and posted a 2.70 era 2nd in league with 163 innings 1st in league and 6 complete games 1st in league and 3 complete game shutouts 1st in league. In 2004 posted 1.59 era in the month of August. Going 5-0 in 5 starts. In 2005 was in the Rule 5 draft sending him to the Florida Marlins where he was 6th in the league in era with a 3.24 era for the Carolina Mudcats AA team. Became a free agent in 2006 and signed with the Seattle Mariners then was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in spring training. Played 2006 with the Reading Phillies AA team. In 2007 signed with the Cincinnati Reds where he played for the Chattanooga Lookouts AA team. He now resides in Victorville Ca. with his wife Christine Lockwood and son Logan.
